Summary
Theatre review of the comedie-vaudeville Le Chevalier d'Essonne. "A lady, who is exceedingly like her brother, takes his place at Paris ..." "The assumption of male attire, which places her among a number of military comrades, leads her several embarassments. She even resorts to the expedient of keeping a mistress, that her sex may not be discovered." "The lady is nicely played and dressed by Mademoiselle Nathalie, and a little innocent paysanne, who becomes the temporary mistress of the pseudo chevalier, is prettily acted by Mademoiselle Marot."
