The author confirms the news that Lola Montes, mistress of King Ludwig I of Bavaria, returned to Munich in male diguise. Her return occurs in the context of great troubles in Germany, as the bulk of the report describes. Regarding Montes, the report states that "The news as to Lola's return to Munich is quite correct; she went disguised in man's attire to one of her quondam servants; fortunately, she was recognised by an officer and carried off to Lindau, en route to Switzerland, in charge of an agent of police and two gendarmes."
