Summary
Report of the trial of George Bridge Mullins, a 22-year-old surgeon's apprentice, accused of being a leader of Chartist insurrections. Mullins was arrested at his father's house wearing his mother's clothes to escape the arrest. "Joseph Thompson . . . stated that he apprehended the prisoner on the 18th of September in a house in Tatham's-court, New Kent-road. He was dressed in a complete suit of female apparel at the time. When the prisoner saw him he held out a finger, and said; "I surrender"."
