Summary
Among the numerous characters at the masquerade given by Mrs. Walker on June 1st: "Mr. CHAMPNEYS appeared with singular drollery in the double character of an Alderman and his Wife. These extraordinary masks were fixed back to back, and in the hands of so good an actor, possessing a perfect change of voice, produced the most risible effects."
