Summary

Short news report in which the author shares his abhorrence about men who attended the Union Club masquerade of May 31st in female attire. "We never remember at any Entertainment of a similar kind, so many Gentlemen in female attire, and not absolutely as Caricatures. One in particular we noticed, whose bosom was so exposed, as not only to be indecent, but even to border on obscenity; and although a mask might hide the blush of insulted modesty, yet we must remark, that had these persons been with company of less elevation in life, they might have fared no better than some of the same kind of dressed characters, who at a late half-guinea Masquerade, by less indecency of dress, gave such offence as not only to be turned out, but even to be thrown over the staircase."
