In a society column-style list of miscellaneous items: "There are persons who regret that an English Lady of high rank and attainments, (Lady M------) should bestow so much of her time on a noted female Democrat, who expatriated herself, and resided in France during the whole Revolution, and not unfrequently, arrayed en homme, was wont to witness the massacres and executions in the frightful days of Robespierre."
