Summary
"On Saturday night last, about eleven o'clock, a woman, to appearance, genteely dressed, knocked at the door of a principal milliner's, in Tavistock-street, Covent-Garden, and delivered a letter for one of the young ladies, but on being desired to walk in, and the lady finding a blank paper, and not recognizing the face of the person under such disguise, immediately acquainted the master of the house, who soon discovered the genteel dressed woman to be no other than a journeyman linen-draper, near Soho, who was very politely conducted to Covent-Garden watch-house, escorted on each side by a midnight beau." [constables, one assumes]
