Summary
"Henrietta Ratburn, otherwise Gibbons, was indicted for petty treason against Mrs. Morgan." Long account of trial and conviction of female servant for killing her mistress that includes an incidental and seemingly garbled account of a planned jest at the expense of some neighbours (see top of col. C): "The prisoner said, that on the Sunday morning she was going to have a bit of fun with a young woman who was servant at the next door. At five o'clock on Sunday morning, that young woman was to be dressed in men's clothes, and they were to watch a young woman and a young man, who they thought slept together in the opposite house."
