Summary
Report about the servants's reception of "a person dressed in very decent woman's apparel" who "knocked at the door of a gentleman's house in Harley-street, Cavendish-square" pretending to know the housekeeper's relations in the country, presumably to commit robbery. The "girl" servant, however, "perceived a man's shoe on the pretended woman's foot" and broke crockery to get the housekeeper's attention. Finally, the girl goes out and fetches "two or three chairmen, who soon discovered this pretended woman was a man armed with a brace of pistols and a cutlass. . . he had men's cloaths under the woman's dress."
