WXDA Record #571
Drury-Lane.
27 March 1786
Summary
"It is much to be regretted that in the days when Shakespeare wrote, the women's characters were performed by men, which accounts for the number of plays which he has written without heroines. Had Shakespeare known Siddons, his muse of fire would have produced a female worthy her astonishing abilities."
